Yes, at last! For days we didn’t get further than the corner bakery, the fagstore across the road, the bars all around and the bathroom at two armlengths from our lazy bed. But today we are on the minibus heading somewhere. We have to visit something!
As soon as you enter Bhaktapur, you notice: there are hardly any cars, there is hardly any smog. From the rooftop balcony we gaze down at a peaceful pagoda in a merry market place. Bhaktapur, the city of wood carving and pottery. Life slows down to a gentle pace. At nine o’clock curfew lights go out and all is quiet. Mmm.
